About UsThe Lakeside Garden Club is an all volunteer 501(3)c non-profit organization dedicated to member education and community involvement and civic beautification. We educate our members through speakers, workshops, field trips and garden tours. The club members share cuttings, plants and learn garden art and crafts. We are involved in our community through offering scholarships to El Capitan High School and Cuyamaca College, conducting bi-annual plant sales and helping with school gardens. As we learn and have fun we also create some lasting friendships. We are members of the Palomar District and the California Garden Clubs, Inc. The Lakeside Garden Club was founded in 1960 with Lucy May Carender leading the group. The club has been involved in the community since its inception. We have raised funds through our twice yearly plant sales and use those funds to help our community. We initiated scholarships for El Capitan High School and Cuyamaca College. We have contributed to community beautification projects like the Blue Star-By-Way Memorial in Lindo Park and the succulent garden at the U.S. Post Office. Plants and trees have been to supplied to many local groups including El Capitan High School and the Lakeside Union School District. In 1993 at the request of the Lakeside Historical Society our club landscaped the Olde Church grounds. Today we continue our efforts to support our community. We now offer two $750 scholarships to Cuyamaca College students and two $500 scholarships to El Capitan students.Mission Statement(goes here)Officers:
